'I booked Kelly and her band for my wedding party, which was obviously a fairly important gig as far as I was concerned - ! - and she was absolutely superb, as were the band. They warmed up everyone up with some great jazz, then stepped the pace up and had the dance floor going crazy. You know it's a hot party when you see Bruno Tonioli dancing topless, Freddie Flintoff jiving in a Viking helmet, and Christine Bleakley competing with Amanda Holden to see who can limbo the lowest. I would recommend Kelly to anyone who wants their bash to go with a bang.'
Piers Morgan

‘Chapter Two are a terrific band to watch live and Kelly Dickson’s fabulous vocals add a really interesting dimension to the show’
Mike Vitti, Jazz FM

Chapter Two is s
inger Kelly Dickson and guitarist Werner Kristiansen.

Having worked on several musical projects spanning a variety of musical genres, playing numerous venues and festivals across Europe including Glastonbury, The Big Chill, Ronnie Scott’s, Blue Note Milan and opening up for John Legend at the Dubai Jazz Festival 2009, Kelly and Werner have reached this inevitable defining point in their own musical chapters. Together, they collaborate to write the material for the grand structure that is Chapter Two. Basing their songs on their love for all things soulful and funky. Subtle powerful vocals and undeniable guitar abilities are the staple of Chapter Two’s sound and live, they are ably backed by an illustrious array of musicians, utilizing the cream of the crop from their own musical pasts to form a behemoth of sound which is rarely heard today.

“A force 10 hurricane bursting with energy”. - Liane Carroll

Kelly’s voice has been described as “a subtle power that creeps up on you” (Jamie Cullum) After moving to Leeds as a child from her birthplace of Northern Ireland she soon developed a love and understanding of funk, jazz and gospel. Kelly’s natural talent saw to her unavoidable rise in her musical region through performing her much-loved funk and jazz standards, after moving to London she was flown to New York twice to record two albums with saxophone legend George Garzone (Vocal Point 2003 and Doodlin’ 2007). Following on from her success in New York, she was spotted by Steve White (Paul Weller) and was asked to sing lead vocals with his band, The Players. Kelly went on to tour Europe with The Players and collaborated in writing and recording on their acclaimed album, ‘From The Six Corners’.

“Kelly's voice knocked me out the very first time I heard it, she is one of our countries best and most versatile vocalists, she has great technique and tone yet can belt them out with the best of them! Kelly is a great singer and a great musician”. - Steve White

Werner (pronounced Verner) was born and grew up on the eastern coast of Norway and had a fascination with the guitar from an early age. After four years at the Royal Academy of Music in London, Werner became heavily involved on the UK music scene and quickly found himself becoming a much in demand musician/songwriter. Werner has collaborated with a wide variety of artists such as Lily Allen, Kid Creole, Rebecca Hollweg, Marla and George Garzone to name but a few.

“Werner is a guitarist of great skill and talent, a absolute virtuoso on his instrument with a sensitivity and ability to completely serve the music”. – Daniel Morris

And so, the story continues with Chapter Two’s four track EP ‘Hindsight’. On the EP tracks like ‘Hindsight’ and ‘I Won’t Doubt’ showcase’s Kelly’s powerful voice and Werner’s arrangements complement her vocal word play perfectly. Reference points could be thrown their way in the form of The Funk Brothers, Aretha Franklin or even more contemporary artists like John Mayer and Joss Stone. ‘Last Words’ slows things down to a slower build, with just as many hooks in it’s chorus as anything else Chapter Two do. In fact, it’s another great example of the diversity in sound they have to offer. The final track on the EP is the bluesy, guitar driven ‘Shoot Me Down’,
an energetic display of their love for music of power and soul.

Chapter Two are preparing to release their debut album in 2011.
